DON'T BE A BOAR

This project was brought to me via a third-party designer from the Cheyenne Mountain zoo. They were looking to have multiple designers conceptualize a series of invitationals, and from there they would select which they would prefer.

The event we were designing for was the “Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Gala” and their theme was the Red River Hog.

The “Mona-Lisa” Hog was featured in the 2019 PPCC MGD/PHO Art show as a part of the marketing campaign.

The “Don’t Be A Boar” invitational, including the marketing assets, were featured-in and received Best-of-Show at the American Advertising Federation.

What I did

  • BRAND DEVELOPMENT

  • SUB MARK AND SUPPORTING ELEMENTS

  • COLOR PALETTE DEVELOPMENT

  • TYPOGRAPHY SELECTION

  • DIGITAL PRESENTATION TEMPLATE

  • PRINT AND MEDIA DEVELOPMENT/PRINTING

I wanted to embrace humor. My original thought was to superimpose the head of the Hog onto people in suits in an illustrated way. But conceptually, I wanted to push the idea into either a historical or nostalgic way. I placed the heads of the Hogs onto familiar masterpieces to both embrace the class of fine art and humor.

The visuals borrowed from the original masterpieces they were based on, while toning down the fine art look it has into a stylized and digitally painted appeal. I wanted to make sure that the hog to precedence, so I made sure to use vibrant and bright pictures for reference.
